Yoruba Lagba tackles Pa Adebanjo over comment against Tinubu
CITIZENS COMPASS -A Yoruba socio-cultural group, Yoruba Lagba Cultural Initiative has distanced itself from the comment made by Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of the apex Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, which dondemns the victory of the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 General elections in Nigeria.
Yoruba Lagba made this known in a statement, over the weekend, signed by its leader, Prince Kazeem Onikeke.
According to him, ” I Prince Kazeem Orisawale Onikeke Lawal, on behalf of myself and the entire Yoruba Lagba cultural initiative do send this statement to Nigerians both home and abroad and the world in general, dissociate myself and my group from the leader of Afenifere, condemning the victory of Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the 2023 Presidential election in Nigeria.
” The statement does not portray the true course and unity of the Yoruba race. We give glory to God almighty for the victory of a worthy son of Yoruba Landd, Ashiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu which some people almost truncated for selfish purposes.
” It is a pity that we do not have the likes of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and Pa Abraham Adesanya to witness this day and reply your staments. ”
