Yoruba Indigenes Foundation flays assassination of Yoruba monarchs in Ekiti
CITIZENS COMPASS —The Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF) has described as arbitrary the assassination of Two Yoruba traditional rulers in Ekiti State by suspected kidnappers.
YIF President, Dr Olumide Aderibole, urged Yoruba traditional council to deliver the Land from mischievous elements.
Aderibole said this in a statement signed by the Director of Communications and Strategies of Yoruba Indigenes Foundation, Mr Sanjo Olawuyi on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
He condoled with the residents and the indigenes of Esun Ekiti and Imojo Ekiti, on the gruesome murder of their traditional rulers.
He said “the wave of blood shed across Yoruba land is now taking an unprecedented dimension. The gruesome murder of these monarchs is a thing of great concern.
“The late Elesun of Esun Ekiti and the Onimojo of Imojo Ekiti met their untimely deaths along Oke-Ako and Ipao-Ekiti road, in Ajoni Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Monday 29th of January, 2024. These solidify the fact that, these herdsmen have no regards for title or status”
The President called on all well meaning sons and daughters of Yoruba land, top line politicians, and all the security stakeholders, to brainstorm on the most effective and efficient methodology to be devised to arrest, address and redress these waves of assassination in the South West of Nigeria.
