Yoruba Indigenes Foundation condoles with family of late Awoist, Ayo Adebanjo

 

CITIZENS COMPASS – The President of Yoruba Indigenes Foundation (YIF), Dr Olumide Aderibole on Sunday, condoled with the family of Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the late leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, over his demise.

Aderibole in a statement on Sunday, described the death as a rude shock.

According to the statement signed by Mr Sanjo Olawuyi, YIF Director of Communications and Strategies, he expressed his condolences to the family, friends and associates of the late Yoruba leader.

“Although, Chief Adebanjo died at a ripe age of 96 years, his death came at a time in which his wealth of experience is mostly needed in Yoruba land and Nigeria at large.

“Late Chief Adebanjo was a brilliant and brave political fighter, who did not give up, while striving for the interest of democratic values.

“Pragmatically, late Pa Adebanjo is known and re-known as an advocate of restructuring, true federalism, equality, democracy and good governance.

In his active days in politics, he consistently vibrated, with juggernaut frequency of politics.

“Pa Adebanjo, a media savvy and an England trainned lawyer, was the last man in the original camp of the Awoists.

“His career background as a journalist and a lawyer, made him to consistently stand tall, in politically related public engagements and conversations.

“The Political annals of Nigeria overtly highlighted, Pa Adebanjo’s brilliant and intelligent contributions at the 1978 Constituent Assembly and the 2014 National Political Conference.

“Baba Adebanjo, a workaholic and an indefatigable Awoist, was respected for his consistent commitment to public spirited ideas and shared values.

Rest well, late Pa Adebanjo.”
