CITIZENS COMPASS–An Abeokuta-based woman in Ogun State has allegedly put up her five-month-old son for sale in place of an Android phone.
She was captured in a viral video with her son amidst some people.
She was seen requesting an Android phone, clothes, shoes, and cash.
Her interviewer asked her if she would return to check on her son should she collect the Android phone and all other items and she answered in the negative.
The interviewer later promised to release the items for her.
The well dressed baby was viciously captured in the video.
The disturbing video shared by an X user, @Oyindamola, has since gone viral on social media.
The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user @dammiedammie35, captured the woman surrounded by onlookers as she spoke to a man filming her. She openly declared her intent to sell her baby.
The conversation in Yoruba captured the man asking how much she wanted for the child. The woman, however, said she didn’t want money. Instead, she asked for an Android phone, clothes, shoes, and some money to buy food. She said if they gave her these things, she would leave her baby with them and never come back for him.
When the man asked where she was from, the woman said she is from Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State. She also confirmed that her child is just five months old. The man then assured her that she would get everything she asked for.
The video has sparked outrage and concern online, with many calling for an investigation into the woman’s actions and for the safety of the child.
