Woman allegedly steals baby in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS –Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old woman, simply identified as Blessing, for allegedly stealing a one-month-old baby boy.
Spokesperson for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday.
He said the mother of the baby, whose name was not mentioned, reported the case at the Elere Police Division on Monday about 2.30p.m.
According to him, the mother reported that about 7.00a.m. on Saturday, while she was sleeping at home with her baby, Blessing allegedly stole her child and went away.
The spokesman said the suspect after stealing the child allegedly went to church to give testimony of giving birth to the baby.
Hundeyin said the suspect was later traced to the Agbotikuyo area in Agege where the baby was recovered from her. He said an investigation was ongoing on the case.
