CITIZENS COMPASS – A widower has reportedly died while pushing a car alongside with others in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
He was said to be preparing for his wife’s burial when the Messenger of death came calling.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, at Fonmon, Ewu-Owa, Gberigbe Road, Ikorodu Lagos.
It was gathered that the tragedy occurred when a Toyota Corolla car got stuck in the flood and three occupants of the car alighted to push it but as this was ongoing, one of them slumped into the flood. An eye witness, Ibrahim Ogunniyi, said sympathisers immediately rallied round him and rushed him to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.
According to Ogunniyi, the late widower was on his way to his in-laws’’ house when the car conveying him alongside with others got stuck in the flood.
Agura-Gberigbe Road is among numerous bad roads in Ikorodu that are begging for the attention of Lagos State Government.
The poor road conditions has sparked protests at some quarters as transporters have jacked up fares in the areas.
