… wife reveals Tinubu’s real age

CITIZENS COMPASS – FEW hours to May 29 inauguration, the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, on Sunday night, asked Nigerians to hold him accountable on his promises, adding that he campaigned to be elected because of the challenges bedevelling the country.

He asked them not to pity him over the enormous task of nation building before him.

While alluding to challenges bedevelling the country, Tinubu said he was well aware of the task he set out for and do not expect pity from Nigerians.

The former Lagos State governor, stated this during inauguration dinner and gala night.

“Corruption, poverty, inconsistencies in policy and many other problems confronting us. But don’t pity me,” the incoming president told a gathering at the presidential inauguration dinner/gala night at the State House Abuja on Sunday night.a

I sked for the job. I campaigned for it. No excuses. I will live up to the bill. I promise,” Mr Tinubu retorted confidently.

71 years-old Tinubu, will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari for a tenure of four years after taking oath of office on May 29. Concerned have mounted about his mental and physical fitness following his frail appearance and incessant medical travels recently.

With inflation at an all time high record of 22 per cent and unemployment estimated to be around 33.3 per cent, Mr Buhari will bequeath a debt profile of over N46 trillion, according to Debt Management Office, to the incoming administration of Mr Tinubu on May 29.

Tinubu’s wife. Oluremi, a senator representing the Lagos Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, also insisted that her husband is 71 years old.

She stated this on Sunday during the presidential inauguration interdenominational church service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.

Asiwaju is 71, I will be 63. I bet I will be one of the oldest first ladies Nigeria has had. We need the grace of God and everyone to do what they are expected to do.”

She said.
