Two nabbed for stealing motorcycle in Ogun

 

CITIZENS COMPASS —The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested two men for allegedly stealing a motorcycle in the state. 

They were 31 year-old Babatunde Azeez and 30 year-old Avose Taiwo.

The motorcycle which was stolen on February 3, 2024 belonged to Odugbayi Qudus. 

The security outfit disclosed this in a statement issued from the Office of the State Commander of the Corps, Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Corps, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf said that at about 0630hrs, Babatunde Azeez, 31 years old, who resides at Itado-Odanpopo, Onfo road and Avose Taiwo, 30 years old of Iwuku-Iseje both in Ipokia Local Government Area were arrested by the officers of the Corps in Ipokia Area Command for stealing a motorcycle on the said day at about 0130hrs.

He said that during interrogation of the suspects, they confessed  that the stolen motorcycle was bought by Ahotin, a mechanic by profession and resident of Mogbara, Okere-Ilashe in Ipokia at the sum of four hundred thousand naira while he made an advance payment of One hundred thousand naira but all effort to get him arrested proved abortive as at the time of filing this report. 

According to the security outfit, the seat of the motorcycle was recovered and the sum of N40, 000 as an evidence.

He concluded that the suspects and the exhibits recovered had been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Ipokia Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
