MANY people reportedly escaped death, on Sunday, in Oshodi, Lagos State, after an empty truck overturned and fell into the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Terminal, while descending Oshodi Bridge.
The incident which occured at about 1pm was attributed to mechanical fault.
It was gathered that the trailer was heading towards Mile 2 when the it overturned.
Eye witnesses’ account said hawkers, road side traders and commuters escaped death by whiskers.
An eye witness Mufutau Ajani said he was heading to the BRT Terminal when the incident happened. “Some parts of Oshodi was flooded as a result of rains and I was heading to the Terminal when I saw people running. Thank God it was under control.”
However, the prompt intervention of emergency responders prevented further damages.
The trailer with number plate KTU 437 XU, was said to have overturned while descending Oshodi Bridge and fell into the BRT terminal thereby causing obstruction along the axis.
