Tributes as Gospel singer, ‘Egbin Orun’ is laid to rest

CITIZENS COMPASS –The remains of f the late Gospel singer, Prophetess Morenikeji Adeleke populaly known as ‘’Egin Orun’ was laid to rest on Sunday, April 28, 2024, at hee residence in Ogin State.
Family, friends and fans gathered at the burial programe which commenced at about 10a.m..at her residence in Ijako, Lameco Bus Stop, Sango Otta.
Fuji Star, Saheed Osupa, The Shepherd of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Genesis Global International, Prophet Oladele Ogundipe and Arems Entertainment on Monday, April 29, 2025, sent their tributes on the demise.
The jointly written tributes read,
“The world of gospel music is mourning following the passing of a beloved icon, Prophetess Morenikeji Adeleke, popularly known as Egbin Orun. Known for her soulful voice and inspiring lyrics, Morenikeji was a beacon of light in the gospel music industry and her loss has left a void that will be hard to fill.

Morenikeji Adeleke was not just a gospel singer but also a medical practitioner and a cleric, describing herself as a prophetess. Her stage name, ‘Egbin Orun’, translates to ‘Beauty of Heaven’, reflecting her belief in spiritual beauty. Her sudden departure was a great loss to the gospel music industry and she will be remembered for her beautiful music and kind heart.

In the wake of her passing, tributes have poured in from all corners of the globe. Her Media Publicist, Arems Entertainment, expressed deep sorrow at the loss of such a talented and inspiring individual praising her for her dedication to her craft and unwavering faith, stating that her music touched the lives of many and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Fuji musician, Saheed Osupa, also known as King Saheed Osupa (K.S.O), expressed his condolences. He praised Morenikeji for her contributions to the gospel music industry and her dedication to her faith. He stated that her music brought comfort and inspiration to many and that she will be greatly missed.
Prophet Oladele Ogundipe, also known as Genesis, the head evangelist of Genesis Global, a celestial church in Lagos State Nigeria, also paid tribute to Morenikeji.
He expressed deep sorrow at her passing and praised her for her dedication to her faith and her contributions to gospel music. He stated that her music brought hope and comfort to many and that her legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
