Tinubu vows to fight corruption, make Nigerians smile
CITIZENS COMPASS —President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, February 29, 2024, vowed to fight corruption to a standstill during his administration.
He was speaking in Lagos during the inauguration of the Red Line Rail Project.
He said: “We said we can do it, you believed in us.
“We said the people’s lives will end up being better, you believed in us.
““I could hear a lot of voices right now.
“I asked for this job, I cannot complain, it’s all about democracy.
“I agree smugglers will fight back, corruption will fight back.
“We will fight them to ruin.
“Corruption will go away, save the money for you to educate our children, to pay for the healthcare system of our people, to pay for the modern transportation system that works for the highest number of people, not those few smugglers.
“What is our problem?
If it’s corruption, we must exterminate it.
“No matter how hard it’s fighting back, we must say no to corruption.
“We must adhere to our pledge of patriotism, perseverance, consistency, and staying focused.
“We must be committed to great value, and we will grow the economy.
“We will feed ourselves out of penury, and we will be happy that we did it.
“I tell Nigerians from this podium that change is possible and that we must make progress.
“It’s not about a single individual but about the fastest-growing population in the world.
“Out of every 10 black-coloured individuals, one is a Nigerian.
“We cannot afford to relax; we must plan and prepare for the increasing population.
“But this revolution that has started, this ongoing reform, we are not looking back.
