Thugs attack party chairman, destroy property over election
CITIZENS COMPASS —Some hoodlums suspected to be political thugs on Saturday attacked the house of the Zonal Chairman, Social Democratic Party, Pastor Sunday Atabo, and destroyed his property at his country home in Aja-Odi Agojoeju, Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
This came barely three days after some thugs also attacked and disrupted the governorship campaign rally of the SDP in the area, destroying several vehicles.
Atebo was in his house when the hoodlum attacked the place on Saturday night.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, the Kogi SDP Director of Communication, Faruk Adejoh-Audu, said Atebo was currently in a coma.
According to him, the hoodlums struck around 12 midnight, looted his house and destroyed everything.
He said, “They attacked him at about 12 midnight and right now he is in coma. They looted his house and destroyed everything there. Some thugs also attacked our rally three days ago.”
However, several calls and a text message to the phone of the Kogi State Police spokesperson, William Ovye, were not responded to as of the time of filing this report.
