Three die in Ogun accident
CITIZENS COMPASS- An accident which occured in the Ogun State axis of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday, has claimed the lives of three persons.
It occurred when a car rammed into a truck at about 5:50 pm, around the Oniworo area of Ogun State.
Nine men were said to be involved in the fatal crash but six were injured. Spokesperson, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe, said “Four persons were injured and unfortunately, three persons were recorded dead.”
She said a Toyota Matrix with number plate, WWD621AE rammed into a Howo Sino truck marked, GGE614XN.
“The suspected causes of the crash were tyre burst and excessive speed on the part of the Toyota matrix driver, who lost control after the tyre burst and rammed into the truck,” Okpe confirmed.
She added that those who sustained injuries had been taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere, while the bodies were deposited at FOS, Isara morgue.
While commiserating with families of the crash victims, the Ogun FRSC Sector Commander, Ahmed Umar, charged motorists to always carry out vehicle routine check to ensure the good condition of their vehicles.
