CITIZENS COMPASS —EXPLOSION rocks Doyin bus-stop around Orile Koka Aguda Local Council Development Area on Saturday involving a gas-laden tanker.
The incident occurred around the late evening though no l8fe was lost.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu confirmed the incident to Citizens Compass at about 10p.m on Saturday.
His updates, “The Agency received a distress call around 08:30pm regarding a fire outbreak at above mentioned location which prompted the immediate activation of the emergency response team and the Agency’s fire service to the scene of incident.
” Eyewitnesses’ accounts disclosed that a loaded gas tanker was gutted by fire.
” The cause of the fire is yet to be determined
“Fortunately there was no loss of life or casualty involved in the incident.
” Collaborative efforts to put out the inferno are ongoing by the Agency’s response team and Fire service alongside Lagos state fire service, federal fire service and the Police.
” The initial aim is to curtail the spreading of the fire further.”
As at 11.06p.m., he said, “The fire has been curtailed by the LASEMA Fire Unit and the Lagos State Fire Service, while efforts are still ongoing to extinguish the fire completely.”
