Students join protests in Ibadan
CITIZENS COMPASS– THE protests rocking Ibadan, Oyo State, over the scarcity of fuel and new Naira notes continued on Monday as hundreds of youths and students took to the streets.
This took off in the morning at the main entrance of the University of Ibadan (UI).
The protesters said they staged the protest to express their dissatisfaction over the lingering scarcity of naira notes and petroleum in the country.
The protesters blocked the institution’s gate, resulting in heavy traffic along the University of Ibadan – Ojoo road for some hours.
Affected areas were Sango, Mokola and Bodija.
They were being guarded by some security agents to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
