
CITIZENS COMPASS-– A special adviser to the Delta State Governor, Chief (Mrs) Shimite Winifred, has reportedly died from domestic violence.
Her husband, Pastor David Favour., is currently facing interrogation following the death of his wife.
The Special Adviser on Trade and Export, was said to have met her untimely death on Monday, after a confrontation with her husband.
Shimitte was the Coordinator of the Delta State UNIDO Centre, focal person for the implementation of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme in Delta State, and producer/presenter of ‘African Pot’, a TV documentary promoting traditional African cuisine, tourism, and culture.
She was a member of the Steering Committee of USAID/NEXTT and the Board of Directors of FESECA.
close associates of Chief Shimite Winifred Bello have alleged that she was brutally beaten by her husband, leading to fatal injuries. One of her aides, Tameta Sunday, took to social media in a grief-stricken post, accusing her husband of ending not only her life but also her dreams and aspirations.
Another online user, Hon. Oge Okonkwo, echoed the allegation, stating that the deceased’s husband has been arrested in connection with the incident. However, the Delta State Police Command has yet to release an official statement confirming the arrest or the circumstances of her death.
