CITIZENS COMPASS– Seven months after his wedding, a resident of Edo State, Kelvin Izekor, has allegedly murdered his expectant wife, Success, in Delta State.
He was said to have perpetrated the evil last Friday using a hammer to smash the deceased in asleep.
The wedding was held in June 2024 only for the home to end tragically.
Kelvin was said to be allegedly constantly abusing his wife until it climaxed with an attack.
He was said to have stabbed her repeatedly before smashing her head.
The tragic incident occurred on Friday after a hot argument which degenerated.
Believing the matter had been resolved, Success went to bed, only for Kelvin to carry out the brutal attack.
In an attempt to cover up the crime, Kelvin was said to have locked the room and told her family she was missing. He carried on with his daily activities as though nothing had happened. By Saturday night, he allegedly attempted to dispose of her body by hiring a vehicle to transport it to an undisclosed location to feign an accident scene.
The bubble was said to have burst when he approached a chemist, claiming his wife had died and that he wanted to take her to the mortuary.
The request arouse suspicion, prompting the chemist to insist on accompanying him, alongside other community members.
Upon arrival at his residence, they discovered Success’ lifeless body with a crushed skull and multiple stab wounds. The gruesome sight sparked outrage, and attracted a mob which attempted to carry out a jungle justice but for the intervention of Police.
During interrogation, Kelvin was said to have attributed his behaviour to mental issues.
Some friends of the deceased said three days to their wedding, the deceased faced attack from her yet-to-be groom.
Before her gruesome murder, the deceased was said to have called her older sister informing her that she was tired of the marriage.
The death has generated reactions among social media users.
