Sesan Daini gives face lift to Lajo primary school
CITIZENS COMPASS – In what could be described as a ray of hope, Hundreds of students of Lajo Primary School in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, were filled with joy following plans by the council chairman, Olusesan Daini to give the School a face lift.
The plans for the face lift were arrived at, yesterday, following a visit by the Chairman, to the school.
The visit was borne out of complaints from the school authorities and Community Development Association (CDA) about intrusion into the school premises and damaging of school property by unknown faces who perpetrate evil intentions after school hours.
This was said to have instilled fear into students and teachers and this prompted the school authorities to cry out to the Council.
Like an answered prayer, Daini activated a quick response by inspecting the government – owned school to establish the extent of the intrusion.
The Chairman seized the occasion of the visit to announce that he will mount the school wall, gate and paint the school.
Speaking with Citizens Compass shortly after the visit, the Chairman said the decision for the face lift was to provide security of lives and property which is germane to his administration.
He promised that this will be done before the school resumes for the next academic session in September.
He said, “This is a positive development for the school and the community, and it shows that my administration is committed to improving the state of education in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.
” The full fencing of the school will help to prevent unauthorized access and protect school facilities.
” It is also important to note that community involvement and support are essential in the development of education.
“As a member of the community, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that our schools are safe and conducive for learning.” He said.
Speaking with Citizens Compass, some residents of Lajo lauded the council chairman for providing succour for the students.
They said this is a rare opportunity for the school which was founded decades ago.
