CITIZENS COMPASS –Saudi Arabia on Thursday, June 6, 2024, announced the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent, marking the beginning of the 12th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
As a result, the Holy month of Dhul Hijjah will commence on Friday, June 7, 2024.
It said that the first day of Eid Al Adha will be Sunday, June 16, after the crescent moon for the month of Dhu Al Hijjah was spotted.
Dhu Al Hijjah is considered one of the four sacred months for Muslims, called Al Ash-hur Al Hurom. The other months are Rajab, (the seventh month), Dhu Al Qaeda (11th) and Muharram (first).
According to Saudi, “the month of Dhul Hijjah 1445 will begin tomorrow i.e Friday, 7 June 2024.
“Hajj Day (Arafat): Saturday, 15 June 2024.
“Eid Al Adha: Sunday, 16 June 2024.”
