Sanwo-Olu embraces peace with Alaba-Rago traders
LAGOS State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and traders of Alaba-Rago Market in Ojo area of Lagos, have decided to tow the path of peace following the 14 days ultimatum issued to the traders.
Following this, the Governor, has reversed the 14 days quit notice ultimatum given to Traders at the Alaba Rago Market, in Ojo to continue with their legitimate business in the market pending a formal agreement and development plan considering the current Traders.
Recall that a joint team of Rapid Response Squad and Lagos Task Force recently went to inform the occupants of the eviction notice.
The reversal was said to have occurred following the intervention of His Highness, Alh. (Dr) Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos and Chairman Council of Fulani chiefs South West having met and discussed with His excellency Mr Babajide Sanwo Olu on behalf of the Traders of Alaba Rago traders.
“Considering the plea, His Excellency Mr Governor on behalf of the Lagos State government reversed its earlier pronouncement and allow the Traders in Alaba Rago to continue with their legitimate business in the market pending a formal agreement and development plan considering the current Traders, said the statement.
“Against this backdrop, His Highness, Alh. (Dr) Mohammed Abubakar Bambado II the Sarkin Fulani of Lagos is calling on the Traders and business entrepreneurs in Alaba Rago to remain calm and maintain a law-abiding environment free from delinquent activities.
