RRS seizes 85 motorcycles in Lagos
CITIZENS COMPASS– Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) in Lagos have impounded85 motorcycles.
The operation, which was supported by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) Enforcement Team, took place yesterday according to a statement on RRS official platform on Friday, April 5, 2024.
It was in continuation of the clamp down on motorbikes plying prohibited routes in the State.
“The areas visited by the team include: Ojodu Berger, Aguda (Ikeja), Iju Road, Agege, Iyana Ipaja Bridge, Abule Egba and Ogba.
“The operation was led by the Commander, Rapid Response Squad (RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi.
“In a similar operation two weeks ago, the team led CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi impounded 257 motorcycles.
“The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade has assured that the exercise would be sustained until there is compliance with Lagos State Transport policy on motorcycles.
*He added that the Command would not fold its arms and allow recalcitrant individuals to flout state’s traffic law without consequences.”
