Road users lament hardship, spend hours on highway
Citizens Compass– ROAD users were stranded on Akure-Owo Highway, Ondo State, following the failed portion of the road.
Many of them lamented to Citizens Compass that a number of man hours were wasted which has subjected them to untold hardship.
It was learnt that the Eleyewo/Ilu Abo axis of the highway has been cut off.
They called on government to fix the road in order to make life easier for the road users.
Some road users lamented that the situation on the road has paralysed economic activities in the area.
However, hawkers in the axis said the situation has improved sales.
Citizens Compass learnt that in 2021, remedial work was carried out on the road, following the murder of the Oluifon of Ifon, Oba Israel Adeusi, but several of the patched portions of the road have failed.
