CITIZENS COMPASS– HOODLUMS protesting over scarcity of Naira notes in the country on Friday, blocked Mowe-Ibafo axis of Ogun State, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The protesters, armed with sticks and other weapons, in the early hours of Friday, barricaded the expressway, leading to heavy gridlock on the road on both ways.
Hundreds of motorists were stranded on the road.
A video of the protests monitored by our Correspondent revealed motorists stranded on both axis of the road as the protests made bonfire.
Some of them were seen carrying sticks and condemning scarcity of Naira notes.
They condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s public announcement of Thursday morning saying this has crippled the economy.
