Protesters demand Certificate of Return to Oyetola
CITIZENS COMPASS– THERE were protests in Osun State on Saturday, following the verdict delivered by the Osun tribunal which sacked the state governor, Ademola Adeleke in favour of former Governor, Gboyega Oyetola.
Pockets of crises were witnessed in major towns of Osun state following the protests.
It was gathered that residents took to the streets to express their grievances against the Friday judgement of the Osun tribunal affirming the immediate past governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola as the authentic winner of the July 16th governorship election in the State.
The protesters carried placards with different inscriptions as they called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to act on the court order by giving the Certificate of Return to Gboyega Oyetola.
Places like Ilesha, Ile-Ogbo, Ila-Orangun, Iwo, Ile-ife and several other places witnessed the protests.
Traders were said to have hurriedly closed shops as a result of the protests.
Meanwhile, Ademola Adeleke has since rejected the verdict and insisted on contesting the verdict.
