
PROMISE FULFILLED: Sesan Daini organises groundbreaking of Adeboruwa palace in Igbogbo-Baiyeku

CITIZENS COMPASS– On Thursday, October 31, 2024, the Balogun of Igbogbo Kingdom, Chief Jelili Oduntan, on behalf of the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom in, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, requested for rehabilitation of the monarch’s palace and relocation of a transformer from Club 24.
That was at the Stakeholders’ Forum, ahead of the presentation of the Year 2025 budget.
The event which was held at the Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division in Lagos State, played host to stakeholders like Community Development Committees (CDC), traditional leaders, chieftains of the All progressives Congress (APC), legislative arm, educationists, artisans, religious leaders, transporters, youths, market men and women to mention but a few.
Still on that day, the CDC Chairman, Alhaji Razak Ibiyeye, on behalf of the entire residents drew the Council’s attention to the deplorable state of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Road and as well captured residents’ plights in their bid to access the road.
These were some of the requests presented to the Council Chairman, Olusesan Mayokun Daini popularly known as Builder Olusesan Daini which he promised to look into.
Citizens Compass reported that at the Stakeholders Forum, the council chairman, appreciated all and sundry for believing in his administration with a promise to continue to look into the plights of his people before he rounds off his second term in office.

Yesterday, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Daini recorded another giant stride by conducting the groundbreaking of the palace with prominent sons and daughters of the land in attendance.
Speaking at the event, Daini, said it was a promise fulfilled and a pathway to erect an ultramodern edifice that would remain a landmark in Igbogbo Kingdom.
Going down memory lane, the Builder said during consultation with the monarch in 2016, he advised him to put smiles on the faces of residents and this had been his watchword all through his eight years in office as the Council Chairman.
He said the reconstruction of the palace got the approval of the sitting governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He mentioned that upon completion, the palace will be a state-of-the-art facility.
According to him, “the project will comprise offices, an archive section to preserve Igbogbo Kingdom’s historical records, fully air-conditioned offices for the King and his workers.”
On the duration of the project, he said, “the expected duration is six months.’
Also speaking, Chief Onasanya, eulogised Daini for the laudable achievements he has recorded so far.
“No one would have thought Daini would perform this way. He is a young man likewise our King.
“I am glad that this project is taking place during the reign of our monarch.
“This is historical and he will never be forgotten.”
Former Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Adebimpe Akinshola, lauded Daini’s developmental strides in Igbogbo-Baiyeku.
She expressed satisfaction at the level of his performance.
To cap it all, the Adeboruwa prayed for more success for Daini and his team.
In attendance were an elder statesman and one-time Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Lagos State, Asiwaju Olorunfunmi Basorun, Former Minister for Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, a Chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Kaoli Olusanya among others.
Citizens Compass, reported that at the Stakeholders Forum, Daini said some of the ongoing projects in IBLCDA would be completed before he bows out of office.
He said that if he could not complete some, his successor would.
