Popular Ibadan OAP, ‘Ejanla’ shot dead
POPULAR Ibadan-based On-Air Personality (OAP) Titus Badejo popularlly known as ‘Ejanla’ has been shot dead by gunmen.
The incident occurred on Saturday night at Oluyoye area of Ibadan, Oyo State .
It was gathered he was murdered outside a club at Oluyole Estate, Ibadan around 11:30pm.
He was reportedly gunned down when he was about leaving around 11:30pm.
An eye witness who pleaded anonymity said: “He was leaving with some friends when two masked men riding on a motorcycle suddenly stopped, wielding guns and asking all of them to lie down and he was shot repeatedly by the assailant. Only him was shot and they didn’t take anything from him.”
Badejo, celebrated his 49th birthday about a week ago.
Until his death, he worked with Space FM and later Naija FM in Ibadan.
His body has been deposited st the mortuary at Adeoyo Hospital, Ring Road.
The policemen from Oluyole Division were said to have gone to the scene, from where his body was taken to the mortuary.
Reacting to the incident on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state ommand, Adewale Osifeso, told Daily Trust that Titus was shot dead in front of a club in Oluyole Ibadan.
He said: “At about 0730hrs, Sunday 20th June 2021, One Damilola Afolabi ‘m’, Manager at Club 407, Oluyole Ibadan reported at Oluyole Divisional Police Headquarters that on Saturday 19th June, 2021 one Titus Badejo, Journalist and Freelance Disc Jockey with the club was shot outside the club premises by unknown assailants.
“However, comprehensive investigations are in top gear to unravel circumstances surrounding the incident and to apprehend the assailants.
“Verifiable updates would be provided soonest, pls.”
