CITIZENS COMPASS– A Nigeria’s pop artist, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has lost his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesman of the police command in Lagos, said eight domestic staff of the music star have also been invited for questioning regarding the death of the child.
The three years old son was reported dead on Monday, October 31, 2022, at their residence in Lagos State,
Reports said the child drowned in a swimming pool where he was being trained on swimming.
Spokesperson, Lagos State Police command, Benjamin Hundeyin said the
Command has arrested eight domestic staff for interrogation.
He said one of them put a distress call across to the Police to report the incident.
“They were invited for questioning and anyone found culpable will be placed under arrest.
“We got the report at about 10pm on Monday and his body has been deposited in the morgue.
“We are in touch with his parents. In fact they were with us last night.”
What we know so far is that he drowned. I don’t have any information beyond that. We are reviewing the CCTV Cameras to get additional information about the circumstances of his death.
The incident occurred few months after the artist’s uncl, Senator Ademola Adeleke, won the governorship election in Osun State, through the People’s Democratic Party (PDP’s) flag bearer in Osun State.
