Police uncover baby factory in Lagos

…Parade 39 suspects for murder, kidnapping, robbery

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– Lagos State Police Command on Monday, said it uncovered a baby factory in the Ijegun area of the State.

The operation took place on Saturday, at about 1400hours after credible information to the Afurugbin area where the factory was located.

Six adults and three children were rescued from the factory which followed the arrests of the baby factory operator and her accomplices.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, disclosed this as part of his achievements in the past few weeks.

“On April 5, 2025 at about 1400hours, a credible intel was received that there was a baby factory at Afurugbin, Ijegun area. Based on the report, detectives of the Command were quickly mobilized to the scene. The operator, one Mariam Vincent ‘f’ aged 35 years and two (2) others, Orie Ruth ‘f’ aged 23 and Ujunwa Ifeanyi ‘f’ aged 18, were immediately arrested. The following victims; Precious ‘f’ aged 24, Magdalene ‘f’ aged 25, Adaobi ‘f’ aged 23, Princess ‘f’ aged 22, Ifeanyi ‘f’ aged 25, Amaka ‘f’ aged 26 and three (3) children; Destiny ‘m’ aged 7, Miracle ‘f’ aged 5 and Success ‘f’ aged 2, held in captivity, were rescued.

“During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have abducted their victims in different area of the state for the purpose of running a baby factory. Investigation is in progress.”

The Commissioner said a resident of Badagry opened fire on three elderly persons thereby sending them to their early graves. “On April 1, 2025, at about 0830hrs, concerned citizens from Yovoyan Community, Gberefu Beach, Badagry reported a tragic incident that a suspect identified as Charles Atideka (currently at large) opened fire on three elderly persons namely: Muji Onilude ‘m’ aged 75, Richard Atideka ‘m’ aged 70 and Charity Atideka ‘f’ aged 59. All victims were rushed to the Badagry General Hospital, where they were confirmed dead. “The corpses have been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy. Meanwhile, one Bright Sonu ‘m’ aged 33, who accompanied the prime suspect to the scene was arrested. The following day, April 2, 2025, the wanted suspect was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead and the case has been transferred to the SCID, Yaba.”

He said the Command responded to another murder incident in the Okokomaiko area. “On April 3, 2025, at about 0800hrs, a distress call was received at Okokomaiko Division concerning a crime that had occurred on March 26, 2025. “According to the report, one Shakirat Ojo ‘f’ aged 27 was allegedly beaten to death by her father, one Kamoru Ojo, whom also buried the victim in a shallow grave within his compound at Afromedia area of Ojo. Following the report, a team comprising homicide and crime scene detectives visited the address. *The shallow grave was located, and the corpse was exhumed, photographed, and taken to a public morgue for autopsy. The suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody. Investigation is in progress.

The Commissioner said a case of child stealing was reported to the Command where the operatives rose to the occasion. “The case of child stealing was reported by a complainant on April 5, 2025, that her granddaughter by name, Wuraola aged 3, was stolen on her way to school.

“Detectives of the Command immediately swung into action and arrested two suspects: ThankGod Francis ‘m’ aged 33 and Grace Francis ‘f’ aged 21 and the victim was rescued from them. The suspects have been arraigned in Ebutemeta Magistrate Court 3 for prosecution on March 28, 2025. The suspects were granted bail in the like of one million Naira and two sureties, but could not meet the bail conditions and were remanded in correctional facilities custody.”
