Police roll out programmes for maiden National Police Day in Ogun

…To honour officers

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– The Ogun Police Command on Wednesday, rolled out programmes to commemorate the National Police Day slated Sunday, April 7, 2025.

The event is in line with the declaration by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun, Ph.D,.

It also follows the presidential directive to establish an annual National Police Day in recognition of the invaluable contributions and commitment of our officers to nation building.

Spokesperson for the Command, Omolola Odutola, disclosed this to newsmen.

She said the Command would, “seize the opportunity to strengthen collaborations with our communities to engender public trust through Police Public Engagement.”

The event kicked off on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, with the flag off of the re- construction of POWA Acquisition Centre at Command Hq., Eleweran.

On Thursday, April 3, 2025, there will be a Town Hall meeting with critical stakeholders on challenges and collective solutions to security challenges.

On Friday, April 4, 2025, there will be Community Engagement as Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers interface with the public on the importance of National Police Day.

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, there will be free medical services to community members to enhance public health followed with sanitisation and cleanup of public spaces.

“As we celebrate National Police Day, the Ogun State Command warmly invite members of the public to join in the celebration.”
