Police rescue underaged children in Lagos building as parent embarks on medical trip

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– Lagos State Police Command on Saturday, said it has rescued six underaged children from a residential building in Ejigbo area following a top off.

Spokesman for the Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, in a statement, said the gender unit of the Command are currently handling the matter which was transferred by the Ejigbo police station.

The children’s mother was said to have embarked on a medical trip leaving the children with a caregiver.

“On 18/2 /2025 at about 1200hrs the case was transferred from Ejigbo police station to Gender unit Ikeja in which there was information received that six children were staying alone in a residential house , within an Estate in Ejigbo axis of Lagos , “The children aged 7-13 years have been rescued and are currently in protective shelter through the Ministry of Youth and social development ; Information so far revealed their mother is currently abroad for medical treatment and left them in care of a caregiver, Effort is in top gear to reach out to their mother, investigation currently on going to get more facts about the matter.”
