Police affairs ministry equips hospital with safety kits
CITIZENS COMPASS – THE Ministry of Police Affairs has officially handed over 602 safety kits and 304 First Aid boxes to the Nigeria Police Force at the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital in area eleven (11) Garki Abuja.
National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) can report that the handing over ceremony was performed on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Police Affairs, Mr. Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan by the Director, General Services, Mrs Ibilola Edemanya to the Commissioner of Police (Medical), CP Garba Emmanuel at the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital, Garki Area Eleven, Abuja, recently.
Mrs. Ibilola Edemanya who represented the Permanent Secretary pointed out that the presentation of the medical equipment is in line with the mandate of the Ministry to ensure the safety and protection of rank and file in the country. She added the first aid equipment is meant for the treatment of injured officers and citizens during operations in the field adding that it will go a long way to assist rank and file on official assignment.
In his words, the Ministry is committed to the safety of Nigeria Police Personnel in the process of performing official duty. This is in line with the reform agenda of the Federal government to reposition the force through enhanced welfare, police reforms, and rebuilding of critical policing infrastructure to meet current security concerns, and this underscores the need for collective support for our policing system in Nigeria”.
Speaking further, the Director (General Services) explained that each first aid box contains a Band-aid; PBT Bandage; Alcohol tablet; PVC gloves; Plastic Tweezers; Non-woven tape; Metal scissors; Mask; Non-woven stickers; Triangular towel, and Golden Emergency Blanket while the Safety Kits comprise: Safety pin; Iodine Prep pad; Gauze Swap; Steel Tweezers/forceps; Bandage Triangularine; Scissors; PBT bandage; Elastic bandage; on-woven tape; Alcohol pad; Band-aid; Security whistle; Cotton swabs; Disposable gloves; First aid instruction and waterproof nylon bag.
Receiving the safety equipment on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police (medical), CP Emmanuel Garba thanked the Federal Government for continued support to the Nigeria Police Force noting that the safety equipment will boast the morale of rank and file in the Force.
