CITIZENS COMPASS —There was panic in Anyigba, Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, on Thursday, following a raid on two banks by a group of armed robbers. 

According to eyewitnesses’ accounts, the armed robbers announced their arrival with gunshots before launching an attack. 

It was gathered that the robbery operation commenced at about 5 pm. when they stormed both banks. 

The exact amount of money carted away could not be established but It was learned that the operatives of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), engaged the armed robbers in gunduel.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts to reach the spokesperson, Kogi State Police Command, SP William Aya, were unsuccessful.
