CITIZENS COMPASS– THE Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Oloyede, has mourned the passing of his Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon Francis Goke Oguntulu, who died in the early hours of Sunday, from injuries sustained when he was shot by yet to be identified gunmen.
Oguntulu died on Sunday from pains of gun wound he sustained when he was shot on Friday.
Also mourning the late Deputy Chief of Staff are politicians from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), who have been sending condolence messages to the Council.
Among them were the chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon Saheed Animashaun, Member Federal House of Representatives, Oshodi-Isolo constituency1, Hon Bashiru Dawodu, former Chairman, Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Hon Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh and AOC Lagos State House of Assembly candidate, Oshodi-Isolo constituency 1, Otunba Kayode Ogundipe.
Oloyede in a statement on Monday, August 22, 2022, described Oguntulu as a dependable staff whose political sagacity will be greatly missed.
The council boss also directed that staff members should mourn the departed soul in a solemn manner while praying for the repose of his soul. He equally urged residents to remember the bereaved family in prayers as they pass through this difficult time.
“Hon. Goke will be greatly missed by all. I am yet to get over his demise and my heart goes out to his immediate family and aged parents. Within his short stay with our administration, he had proved himself worthy. He was always ready to discharge his duties and always gave useful advice anytime he was called upon.”
Late Oguntulu brought his political sagacity to bear and contributed immensely to the development of the local government.
He was appointed Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Youth Development under Afeez Ipesa Administration and Special Adviser on Traffic under the immediate past chairman Bolaji Muse-Ariyoh. He was the Deputy Chief of Staff to the chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government until his untimely death. May his soul continue to rest in peace.
Animashaun said he will personally miss Oguntulu as a friend whom he fondly called ‘Meta Meta’
He said; “If anyone has told us you would die now, we would have fought the person hard, because there was life in you all through. You lived a life worthy of emulation, you have always made people around you happy. You are such a jovial person and lovingly to be with. We will dearly miss you, Goke.
“As we mourn your demise we pray for the repose of your body and that may God give the family, friends and all of us at the APC the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
Dawodu said; “No doubt, his death is a great loss to Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency 1, a very reliable political ally.
