Orelope-Adefulire commissions 20-bed health center in Igbogbo, Lagos

CITIZENS COMPASS– The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (OSSAP-SDGs), Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, on Saturday, commissioned a 20-bed primary health care center in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (IBLCDA), Ikorodu Division, Lagos State.
The health center was sited in Oreta area towards bringing the dividends of democracy as facilitated by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the people of Igbogbo and its environs.
The newly commissioned facility consists of comprehensive features such as consultant’s office, labour room, patient wards, waiting area, Medical-Surgical Patient Room, Intensive Care Unit, Maternity Care Patient Room, Behavioural and Mental Health Room, Medical-Behavioral Room, and Living Resident Room. These amenities are designed to provide essential healthcare services to the community.
Present at the occasion were party chieftains including former Secretary to Lagos State Government(SSG), Asiwaju Reuben Olorunfunmi Basorun, His Royal Majesty Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom; Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun, Member, House of Assembly Constituency II; Hon. Wasiu Agoro, Chairman, Imota LCDA; and Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba of Ijede LCDA. In their respective speeches, they lauded Orelope-Adefulire for her selflessness and dedication to bringing development and essential amenities to the community.
Before commencing her Keynote address, Adefulire prayed that the facility would achieve it’s purpose in the IBLCDA.
To further enhance the facility, she announced plans to add an Immunization, Antenatal, Gynecology, and Postnatal Unit, along with Doctors’ Quarters. Additionally, she pledged to construct a security house and upgrade the perimeter fence with barbed wire to ensure improved safety and functionality.
Princess Orelope-Adefulire also implored the community to continue praying for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to remain patient, assuring them that positive changes are forthcoming in 2025. She emphasized that the current challenges are temporary and that the government’s efforts will soon yield tangible benefits for all citizens.
Earlier in his welcome address, the council chairman, Olusesan Mayokun Daini eulogised Princess Orelope Adefulure describing her as a mother, sister, core politician and a woman with great track records.
The Council Chairman popularly known as Builder Sesan Daini expressed profound gratitude to the Princess for her unwavering support noting that the healthcare center would serve approximately 51 Community Development Associations (CDAs) by providing essential medical services to a broad segment of the population.
“This is a proof of grassroot development.” He said.
Finally, he thanked the Permanent Secretary, Health District 2, Dr Dayo Olajide, whom the health Center would be handed over to.

Going down memory lane, he stated that the Oreta Road which hosts the health center, which was constructed in the 80s by the military regime is now being re-constructed by Hon. Babajimi Benson, Member, House of Representative representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
He said, “Today is my happiest day.”
His Royal Majesty, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, thanked all for their contributions.
Former Member, House of Assembly and former Commissioner for Tourism, Adebimpe Akinsola, and APC Party Chairman in the area, Taiwo Orenuga, also expressed their gratitude for the federal government’s initiative acknowledging the project’s positive impact on the community and appealed for additional developments to further enhance the well-being of the residents.
The event was also graced by the Executive, Legislative, and Management of IBLCDA.
