One year after installation, court sacks royal father
CITIZENS COMPASS – Barely a year after his installation, a High Court sitting in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Monday, sacked the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammed Tijani Anaje.
He was installed by former Governor of the State, Yahaya Bello.
Justice Salisu Umar of High Court 6 delivered the ruling restraining Anaje from parading himself as the paramount traditional ruler of Ebiraland.
Anaje was appointed in January 2024 during the final days of Bello’s administration, but his ascension to the throne has been met with legal challenges.
While full details of the judgment are yet to be made public, the case, filed under Suit Number HCO/05C/2024, was brought before the court by Dr. Barnabas Adeku Ojiah and two others against the Kogi State Government.
