CITIZENS COMPASS– ONE person has reportedly died while seven persons were rescued on Tuesday, after a three-story shopping mall collapsed at the Beirut Road, GSM Market, Kano State.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 3pm.
It was gathered that the victims were stall owners.
The cause of the accident could not be established at press time.
Nura Abdullahi, the coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Territorial District, confirmed the incident.
Giving an update at about 8.58pm, he said one of the victims was confirmed dead, sIx were treated and discharged while another suffered multiple fractures and was on treatment at the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital.
