Ogunsan congratulates DIG Kokumo on new role as Coordinator, National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons

CITIZENS COMPASS – The Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan today received the good news of the appointment of DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo (retd) as Coordinator of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NACSALW) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR with great excitement, National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), can report.
With this new appointment, NAOSNP can report that DIG Kokumo with immense prowess in crime prevention, investigation, and control has been called out to perform worthy service to the fatherland.
Expressing his deep satisfaction and joy on the appointment, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan said about DIG Johnson Kokumo, ‘The news of your appointment as the Coordinator of the National Centre for the Control of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NACSALW) today is a good news which I received with great delight and admiration. The new Coordinator of NACSALW, DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo rtd who will report to the Office of National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu was until his retirement in 2023, the DIG in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Abuja.
Before that role, DIG Johnson Kokumo rtd was the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department, Force Headquarters, Abuja. Also, the excellence-driven and effective administrator, Kokumo proved to be a superb operational officer in the Nigeria Police as a one-time Commissioner of Police in Edo state and Assistant Inspector-General in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos.
It is expected that he will infuse fresh vigour into the agency saddled with the control of small arms and light weapons. He is expected to evolve strategies which will bring lasting solutions to the menace of arms proliferation in the country.
