Ogun cultists surrender arms to Police
CITIZENS COMPASS —The Amnesty Initiative introduced by the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Alamutu Mustapha, is gradually paving way in the State as some cultists in the Sagamu area have willingly surrendered their arms to the Police.
The Command disclosed this on its X Handle formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
“As traditional rulers and community leaders collaborate with the police to make headway for peaceful coexistence.
We need more young persons to field legitimate means of income, according to “CP Alamutu Mustapha who was in Sagamu to mop up dangerous arms from the possession of young persons.
“The Commissioner of Police who noted that some young persons joined social negative vices out of peer pressure, intimidation and fear of being killed.
Young persons in Sagamu Ogun State surrendered their operational weapons under the Amnesty initiative of CP Alamutu Mustapha.
“It has become common ground to include more stakeholders in crime fighting as a form of Community Policing. “
