Ode-Idahosa urges traditional rulers to support 46th Alaafin

 

CITIZENS COMPASS– The Secretary General, NIDO Africa Continental, Sir Hamzaosa Ode-Idahosa, JP, on Tuesday, urged traditional rulers to support Oba Abimbola Owoade, who was crowned as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo in Oyo State over the weekend.

Citizens Compass reported that Owoade succeeded the 45th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who died on April 22, 2022, at the age of 83.

The coronation event took place today (Saturday) at Oliveth Baptist High School in Oyo, where the state governor, Seyi Makinde led a host of dignitaries, including notable Nigerians.

Ode-Idahosa in a press statement made available to Citizens Compass extended congratulations to the newly crowned monarch. “Warmest congratulations to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Abduhakem Owoade I, on your coronation as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo.

“On this momentous occasion, held on April 5th, 2025, in Oyo Town, we celebrate the beginning of a new era. This historic event marks a significant milestone in the history of Oyo Kingdom, and we are honored to witness the ascension of a new leader.

“As Secretary General, I urge traditional leaders to work tirelessly to foster unity, peace, and love among the people of the Oyo Kingdom. By doing so, we are confident that the kingdom will experience unprecedented growth, development, and prosperity.

“May God Almighty grant your Royal Highness wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to lead the kingdom with divine guidance. May your reign be filled with joy, peace, and success, and may the people of Oyo Kingdom live in harmony and prosperity.

“We pledge our support and commitment to working together with the traditional leaders to promote the welfare and development of Oyo Kingdom.”
