Obasanjo mourns ex-Oyo PDP Governorship candidate, Adeojo

CITIZENS COMPASS– Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has mourned the passing of one of his close associates and friend, Chief Yekini Adeojo, who died on Friday.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on weekend, Obasanjo described the late politician as “a great man, a committed and effective representative of his people, in Ibadan, Oyo State.”

To Obasanjo, “his transition is, no doubt, a huge loss not only to me, but also to the people and government of Oyo State, who he served actively before his passage.”

Obasanjo recalled that Adeojo was an active community leader and an exemplary politician with integrity and one who has demonstrated that politics is an avenue not for mindless enrichment but for rendering selfless service to humanity.

“My family and I commiserate with his immediate and extended family members on this painful loss and pray that God will grant them and the rest of us, his friends and admirers, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

“I will undoubtedly miss my amazing and beloved brother with the hope to continue to hold on to the good and remarkable memories we had together, till we meet to part no more.

“May the soul of our very dear Chief Adeojo rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
