Oba Adeboruwa Estate meets Adegbose FC at Igbogbo-Baiyeku football competition

CITIZENS COMPASS–Team Oba Adeboruwa Estate will on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, slug it out with Adegbose FC during a football competition organised by the Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area(LCDA) under the leadership of the Council Chairman, Olusesan Daini.
The venue is Eleja Primary School Playing Ground at 2 p.m.
The competition is expected to witness the turn out of Very Important Personalities across the LCDA.
Expressing readiness for the event, the Chairman, of Oba Adeboruwa Estate Community Development Association (CDA), CDC Zone 4 in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area(LCDA), Mr Bolaji Hammed Musa, expressed satisfaction that the football competition would bring unity to the land.
Speaking on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in a statement made available to Citizens Compass, he enjoined residents to actively participate.
The statement titled, Introducing Adeboruwa Estate Football Club, said the football competition was formed over a decade ago with the aim of unifying youths in the LCDA and its environment.
He said Oba Adeboruwa CDA is directly associated with the name of the traditional ruler of the Town, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom.
According to him, “Oba Adeboruwa Estate CDA is the only community in Igbogbo Kingdom that bears the name of the traditional ruler of the Town,”
The CDA Chairman with his jurisdiction along Igbogbo-Baiyeku Road said,
“Situated along Baiyeku Road, the team has a series of participation and glorious moments in local soccer across Lagos State and Ikorodu especially within Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA.
“I am a young dynamic man whose love and enthusiasm for community growth and development both social, cultural, sporting and infrastructural development has been his watchword.
“As a young man whose growing up witnesses a great deal from Onola playing ground in Lagos Island gives an insight of what street kicks soccer is all about hence his transfer of interest and love to continually grow and manage the football team named after his immediate resident estate, His Royal Majesty Oba Adeboruwa Housing Estate Football Club. Mr. Musa Bolaji Hammed who also doubled as the CDA Chairman of the Estate and an Assistant Secretary to the Community Development Committee(CDC) Zone 4, which span through the Estate gate through Ilado, Macaulay, Odudu, Unity, Maternity, Graceland, Ojureri, Seye Ogunlewe, LFI through to Baiyeku and its environs.
“The team whose aim and objectives are to offer professional training sessions, create an experience for our players and supporters, to teach value practice, punctuality, good communication manners, hard work, teamwork, and setting good goals for the future is our tradition.
“The technical director and coach doing the wonderful work on the players is no other person than coach Nurudeen Gbadamosi nicknamed Nurex, who is a popular coach in Ikorodu, Lagos State. “Coach Nurex has played for several local clubs like Bolowotan FC, Pepsi Academy FC, Ultimate Villa FC, and Perfect Touch FC with an array of awards won and has attended international trials. He’s a product of the National Institute for Sports where he underwent coaching programmes that made him a certified professional coach.
“Oba Adeboruwa Estate Football Club housed several superstars whose names ring bell in Ikorodu as it will be witnessed in the coming opening match of Igbogbo Baiyeku LCDA Chairman’s Cup slated to take place on May 1st at the Eleja Primary School Igbogbo.”
