NTA Correspondent not arrested in Edo
CITIZENS COMPASS – A Correspondent with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Goodluck Enaini,on Wednesday, debunked as fake, a report of his arrest in Edo State.
Earlier, a section of the media had reported that the Correspondent was arrested following the budget presentation of the State governor, Monday Okpebholo, wherein he goofed.
On Tuesday, the Governor was caught in a mix of confusion during his presentation of the 2025 budget to the State House of Assembly.
He noted during his presentation that the proposed budget, estimated at N605 billion, reflects a 25 per cent increase from the 2024 budget.
The Appropriation Bill is titled “Budget of Renewed Hope for a Rising Edo.”
However, he struggled with the pronunciation of the budget’s numerical value and this sparked criticism from social media influencers.
On Wednesday, news filtered that Emmanuel was arrested for broadcasting the error against the wish of the governor.
The Correspondent took to his X Handle to debunk the purported arrest.
