CITIZENS COMPASS– A mob has reportedly set ablaze a newly wedded official of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Aliyu Imran, has been set ablaze in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The deceased was an Assistant Superintendent of Narcotic before he was set ablaze in the Gadan-Gayan region of Igabi Local Government Area.
This incident reportedly occurred after a vehicle which Imran and his colleagues were pursuing was involved in a collision that resulted in the death of some people.
It was learnt that the officer and his team were chasing a suspected drug dealer who attempted to evade arrest by reversing his vehicle.
Some people were reportedly crushed to death in the process.
While trying to intervene, the deceased was said to be attacked by the mob.
He sustained stab wounds while the Officer in Charge (OC) called for assistance.
It was gathered that a courageous police officer damned the consequences and transported him to a nearby hospital; however, the mob later invaded the medical facility, forcibly removed him, and set him on fire.
