Mohbad: Family address fans on First year remembrance

 

 

CITIZENS COMPASS—As September 2024 approaches, the family of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, on Monday, expressed concern about the first anniversary of his death urging Nigerian both at home and in the Diaspora to suspend any programme or activity to commemorate this.

The Alobas said such activities should be suspended in the in their own interest in other not to play on the emotions of the family or open up fresh wounds.

The Family expressed this in a statement signed by a member of the family’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu,

They said, “It has come to the attention of the Aloba family that some organisations have been planning to celebrate the first anniversary of the death of our late son and singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (Mohbad). The Aloba family wishes to appeal to such interest groups to suspend such ideas.

“The late singer Is yet to be buried. As such, the family would wish the public to join them in prayers at his anniversary rather than organise any elaborate event that will affect their emotions.”

“It is no longer news that some individuals and organisations have been planning to carry out events to commemorate the late singer’s death.

“We will appeal to such persons and organisations to seek proper approval from the family before going on with such plans. The Aloba family would not wish the goodwill of their illustrious son to be employed for commercial purposes.”

Recall that Mohbad died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, and his death has since then sparked controversies.

Lagos State Police Command has simce arrested Mohbad’s former record label, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley as investigations into the death continue.

The Command also arrested four other people in connection with the death.
