CITIZEN COMPASS –Many lives were lost on weekend, in a stampede occasioned by distribution of Christmas rice in the Okija area of Anambra State.
The distribution was aimed to support residents ahead of the festive season.
Sources quote different figures of the fatalities but there were no official figures at press time.
However, eyewitnesses’ accounts said many struggled to receive their share of the Christmas rice.
