CITIZENS COMPASS– A suspected scavenger simply identified as Mahmud, has been stabbed to death by one Musa Zayanu at a bolar site in Abule-Egba area of Lagos State.
The 26-year-old was said to be stabbed with a knife on the left side of his stomach.
He subsequently bled to death following the injuries sustained during the incident which occurred yesterday, at about 0900HRS.
The cause of the incident could not be established.
Confirming the incident in a statement, spokesman, Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said, “On 10/03/2025, at about 0900HRS, a report was received at Oko-Odo division that on the same date, at about 0700hrs at bolar site, Abule Egba, one Musa Zayanu ‘m’ stabbed one mahmud ‘m’ aged 25 with a knife on the left side of his stomach and as a result of this, the victim bled profusely from the injury sustained and subsequently this led to his death.
“The DPO immediately led a team of policemen to the scene of crime, where photographs of the deceased were taken, the knife used in the commission of the crime was recovered, the corpse was evaluated by Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit And Deposited At Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for preservation and autopsy. suspect and exhibit transferred to SCID, Yaba.investigation is ongoing.”
