CITIZENS COMPASS —Love has reportedly turned sour in Bayelsa State as a young man simply identified as Tony, has allegedly beheaded his girlfriend in the State.
The incident occurred on on Saturday morning at the riverside town of Kabeama in Sagbama Local Government.
The mother of one, was identified as, Miss Maxuel Ebibraladei, an indigene of Amatolo in the Southern Ijaw council area of the state.
Citizens Compass garthered that Ebibraladei’s headless body was discovered at dawn by neighbours.
The boyfriend and father of her child were reportedly apprehended before he could escape by the community folks and handed over to the police.
The remains have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa while the suspect is being detained at the State CID.
Narrating the incident, a community source said : “The suspect was apprehended by residents of Kabeama and handed over to the police to avert possible reprisal attack from the kinsmen of the deceased woman.”
The source who spoke anonymously however added: “We don’t know what happened between the two lovers that would make him cut off the head of his girlfriend and mother of his child.
“They two of them are the quiet and easygoing type. We are at a loss as to what went wrong. The headless corpse of the lady was evacuated and deposited at the mortuary of Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa on Saturday while the arrested boyfriend is in custody of the police in Yenagoa.”
At press time, spokesman, Bayelsa State Police Command, could not be reached.
However, a security operative confirmed the tragic incident.
