Lagos shuts down pedestrian bridge in Oshodi
CITIZENS COMPASS – The Lagos State government, on Friday, ordered the closure of the pedestrian bridge connecting Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Terminals 2 and 3 in Oshodi.
The Lagos State government said the order was due to concerns regarding the safety and structural integrity of the bridge.
It also mandated the contractor responsible for the initial construction of the terminal, through the Office of Infrastructure, to place concrete barriers at the entrances leading to the bridge to safeguard the lives of pedestrians who use the infrastructure.
It said the contractor would conduct a comprehensive structural integrity assessment of the bridge for repairs or reconstruction works for the safety of pedestrians.
