Lagos schools resume for 1st term
CITIZENS COMPASS– SCHOOLS in Lagos State resumed for First Term on Monday, September 5, 2022 after about two months of break.
The state government has mandated them to resume as stated in the 2022/2023 Harmonized Academic Calendar as approved by the Honourable Commissioner for Education Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo.
A visit to some of the schools revealed some students carrying out environmental sanitation under the supervision of their teachers.
At Government Technical College, Itamaga, Ikorodu, the day started with Assembly followed by cleaning of the environment after which the students returned to their various classrooms for academic activities.
The same scenario was observed at Oriwu College, Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu and Government College, Lagos Road, Ikorodu.
Some of the students told our Correspondent that they spent the break learning some skills.
Chukwudi Eniola said he spent the break to improve his skill in technical aspect.
Seun Oloye said she learnt how to prepare various dishes. “The holiday was not a waste. My aunt tsight me how to prepare Abacha (local salad), ‘Ofada’ sauce and ‘Isiewu’ to mention but a few.
