Lagos gets new Commissioner of Police, Adegoke
CITIZENS COMPASS —A new Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, has been deployed to the Lagos State Police Command.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, made the announcement on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in a post on the X handle formerly known as Twitter.
Announcing the development in the post, National spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, via his official X handle, congratulated Fayoade on his deployment.
“IGP deploys CP Adegoke Fayoade to Lagos Command. Lagos has a new commissioner of Police. Congrats to my boss, Adegoke Fayoade,”
It was gathered that his deployment comes as the country gears towards the Yuletide celebration.
Adegoke was in charge of Armament at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
While serving in that capacity, he was sent for a course at the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru-Jos, Plateau State, where he graduated among 97 distinguished Nigerians as Executive Course 45.
Mr Adegoke will take over from Idowu Owohunwa, who had been promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, in charge of the Federal Criminal Investigation Department, Alagbon Ikoyi, Lagos.
